JOWHAR (KAAB TV) – At least five officials were killed and several others sustained injuries after a devastating explosives-laden vehicle detonated on Thursday night in Jowhar targeting the residence belonging to the Gamboole district administration and members of the Ma’awisley forces.
Jowhar district authorities confirmed that the car bomb struck the residence where the Gamboole officials were residing, tragically claiming the lives of security personnel among those present.
Former lawmaker Naima Ibrahim expressed her condemnation of the deliberate attack in Jowhar, saying, “I condemn the targeted attack in Jowhar. May God have mercy on the heroes who were martyred by the Kharije in the off-guard attack of our army and our Ma’awisley.” She added her heartfelt condolences.
The manner in which the suicide car bomb infiltrated the town of Jowhar remains unknown at this time.
Al-Shabaab has claimed responsibility for this devastating attack.
