MOGADISHU (KAAB TV) – At least four people have been killed and several others were injured after two bomb explosions in the khat market in the city center of Afgooye, located approximately 30 kilometers from Somalia’s capital, Mogadishu.

Eyewitnesses reported that two bombs were suspected to have been hurled into the market as traders crowded the busy streets.

The attack has left the town in shock and mourning.

The victims were individuals working in the khat market at the time of the explosion. So far, no group has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Chaos ensued as the injured were quickly rushed to the hospital for treatment. Authorities are investigating the incident as the community grapples with the tragic loss.

Local authorities have yet to comment on the attack.

This bombing in Afgooye follows a deadly double bombing in Mogadishu’s Dayniile district earlier on Saturday, where at least 18 civilians were killed in a teashop explosion.
