Luuq (KAAB TV) – An explosion rocked Luuq district in Somalia’s Gedo region on Saturday, leaving at least three individuals injured, as reported by local residents.

The blast, believed to be caused by an improvised explosive device (IED), occurred in a bustling commercial area at the heart of the city, where the victims sustained their injuries.

Following the incident, communication networks, temporarily disrupted, have been restored, and businesses, albeit briefly shuttered, have resumed operations.

Witnesses on the scene noted the swift deployment of security personnel in the city center in the aftermath of the explosion. However, details regarding any potential arrests remain undisclosed.

As of now, the Luuq district administration has refrained from issuing an official statement regarding the bomb blast.
