BOSASO (KAAB TV) – Gunmen have kidnapped construction engineer Abdirashid Sharif, the representative of the company overseeing the construction of the Bosaso city airport, security officials.
The engineer was taken hostage from near the former Puntland hospital on Monday evening.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the kidnapping and it is not clear the motive behind this kidnapping.
Puntland government authorities have not provided further details.
The Bosaso airport was recently handed over by the Puntland administration to a UAE-based company.
Located in northeastern Somalia, Bosaso is the commercial capital of the Bari region and a major port city of Puntland State.
