MOGADISHU (KAAB TV) – More than 10 people have been killed and an unknown number injured after a suicide bomber detonated an explosive at Top Coffee, a popular coffee shop near the presidential palace, on Sunday evening.
The explosion targeted football fans watching the Euro 2024 match between England and Spain. The attack occurred around 11 PM local time.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the incident.
“It is unbelievably shocking and traumatic,” said one survivor at the coffee shop where the explosion targeted young people watching the #EURO2024 in Mogadishu.

First responders described a gruesome scene with bodies scattered on the ground, blood in every corner, and the building partially collapsed. Flames and smoke filled the sky above the Top Coffee restaurant, known for its football fan gatherings.
The targeted area is known for its security measures and is close to a key checkpoint in Mogadishu’s Bondhere district.
