MOGADISHU (KAAB TV) – The number of fatalities from today’s double IED bombings at a teashop in Dayniile District, Mogadishu, has risen to 18, with more than 10 others injured, according to eyewitnesses.

The blasts targeted the teashop located at a street corner, a popular spot for locals to chew khat and relax in the afternoon.

A woman who survived the attack recounted her experience, saying she fled after the first explosion.

“The first bomb went off, and I didn’t know what happened; there was a loud noise. I ran for cover and then heard the second explosion,” she said.

Among the victims were women working at the teashop. Residents who arrived as first responders reported that the IEDs were planted in the teashop because it was frequented by soldiers.

Mohamed, a local shoeshiner, mourned the loss of his aunt, who was killed in the bombing.

No police or ambulances responded to the scene of today’s devastating double IED bombings in Dayniile District, Mogadishu.

As a result, locals were left to transport the bodies and the injured to the hospital using a minibus.
