MOGADISHU (KAAB TV) – Somalia’s international partners have expressed their satisfaction with the culmination of Puntland’s presidential election on 8 January 2024.
“We commend the people of the Federal Member State of Puntland on the peaceful conduct of the process,” stated the partners.
Acknowledging the efforts of political and electoral stakeholders in ensuring a peaceful process, the partners encourage all parties to maintain a peaceful environment while emphasizing that “Any electoral-related dispute should be resolved peacefully through appropriate legal mechanisms.”
The international partners strongly advocate for increased participation and meaningful inclusion of women and youth in future electoral processes. They affirmed their unwavering commitment to supporting Somalia’s endeavors in democratic governance and progressing towards fair, transparent, and direct elections.
