|

DOLOW (KAAB TV) – A delegation led by Jubbaland Vice President Mohamud Sayid Adan arrived in Luuq District today, including MPs, Federal Ministers, and the Jubbaland Parliament Speaker, to mediate with the militias fighting in Luuq District.

More than 20 people died in a conflict that took place at the beginning of this week in Luuq District between the Macallin Weyne and Gaba Weyne clans who live in Luuq.

The Luuq deadly fighting is based on a land dispute that has turned into an armed conflict between the two clans.

More than 700 people have been displaced from the district since the conflict erupted on Friday and continued for three consecutive days.

The situation in the city was stable on Monday and Tuesday, according to a Kaab TV reporter in the Gedo region.

A delegation of Jubbaland authorities is going to hold meetings with the warring parties, and yesterday an urgent call was issued by elders of the Digil and Mirifle clans who are concerned about the situation in Luuq District.
