MUQDISHO (KAAB TV) – The Somali government is strongly campaigning to elect Fowsiya MP Yusuf Haji Aden as the African Union’s new head.
Also, approximately 30 African countries, among the Islamic countries that are members of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), have stated their support for candidate Fawsiya Yusuf Haji Aden to make it possible for him to gain the post of EU president.
Fowsiya Yusuf Haji Adan, who previously served as Somalia’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, is currently running a strong campaign to become the African Union’s chairman, a position for which other countries are fighting.
Somalia is currently receiving a lot of support from the African Union’s Islamic countries, the majority of which have committed to vote for candidate Fowsiya Yusuf to win the EU’s leadership position.
Somalia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Maallim Fiqi, stated that Somalia is a great success because of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation’s (OIC) backing, which has touched 57 countries, 30 of which are African.
The support of the African continent’s Islamic countries for the Fowsiya candidate, Yusuf Haji Aden, has disappointed the candidate, who is competing against Raila Odinka, Kenya’s former Prime Minister.
