More than 10,000 people have been affected by heavy rains in Gedo’s Dolow district.

Gedo  (KAAB TV) – According to local officials and humanitarian organisations, the Dolow district in Somalia’s Gedo region has received the highest rain in a single day since 2016. The severe rains have had a significant impact on the people who live there, affecting over 10,000 people and causing damage to shelters and toilets in an internally displaced persons’ camp. The Jubba River has also risen above the flood risk threshold.

The unexpected and severe rains have caused extensive hardships for the people of the Dolow district.
