LUUQ (KAAB TV) – The second phase of the peace process addressing the conflict between the Macalin Wayne and Gabawayn clans in Luuq district was also attended by the Jubbaland Vice President, Mohamud Sayid Adan, and officials from Jubbaland.
This conflict has caused deaths and injuries, with more than 700 people displaced.
The chief of the Macalin Wayne community, Chief Ali Iman Abdi, and the chief of the Gabawayn community, Malaq Ahmed Adan Laamow, jointly issued a call for peace to all parties concerned with security in Luuq district.
The two clan elders called for an end to conflicts and tensions, emphasizing the importance of peace and unity in the local community.
The Vice President of Jubbaland, Mohamud Sayid Adan, and Jubbaland officials encouraged the conflicting parties to come to the table for a lasting solution to the existing differences.
The clan elders stressed the importance of respecting human rights and avoiding anything that could cause further injury and displacement.
It was agreed that the local community should put in more effort to strengthen integration and mutual understanding to prevent anything that could lead to future conflicts.
Chief Ali Iman Abdi, Malaq Ahmed Adan Laamow, the Vice President of Jubbaland, and other officials emphasized that unity and harmony are the only ways to achieve lasting peace and sustainable development.
They called on the local people and the traditional leaders to work together to maintain the security and stability of Luuq district and to help the displaced people return to their normal lives.
