Muqdisho(KAAB TV)- The Somalia Investment and Development Fair, which aims to promote investment opportunities and showcase Somalia’s economic potential, is now taking place in Mogadishu. Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barreh began in today’s event, which was organised by the Ministry of Planning, Investment, and Economic Development. The conference, and the topic was #InvestSomalia2024, was attended by celebrities from all around the world.
The two-day conference will emphasise Somalia’s skills in key fields such as agriculture, communications, and infrastructure, all of which are critical to the country’s economic restoration and advancement. The event’s goal is to promote economic development and job creation by presenting the potential of these areas to foreign investors.
The Somalia business Conference and Exhibition hopes to attract diplomats, investors, and stakeholders, demonstrating Somalia’s commitment to strengthening economic linkages and fostering an advantageous business climate.
Mohamud Beenebene began the meeting, emphasising their goals of encouraging economic growth and opportunities for investment in Somalia. This event is part of a larger effort to attract foreign investment and highlight Somalia’s economic potential.
Among the speakers spoke were Gabriel Ibrahim Abdulle, Somali Ambassador to Kenya; H.E. Amb. Mr. Kubai Iringo, Kenyan Ambassador to Somalia; and Stephen Waithaka Gitagama, Group CEO and Executive Director of Nation Media Group Ltd. Their speeches demonstrated Somalia’s continuing collaboration with foreign friends.
The meeting featured cultural and traditional skits presented by students from the Royal Muslim Academy, who sang Somali and African music while demonstrating local traditions and culture.
This important event will be directed by Mr. Mohamed Dubo, Director of MoPIED’s Somali Investment Promotion Office. Mr. Mo Shire, Director General of MoPIED, welcomed the guests of honour and emphasised the importance of such projects for Somalia’s long-term economic prosperity.
