The government issued an order to remove bodies from the Bulusiya school cemetery in Mogadishu.

MUQDISHO (KAAB TV) –In response to the government’s instruction to clean up the Bulusiya school cemetery in Hamar Jajab area, Mogadishu residents began removing dead bodies on Saturday.

Among those released is Abdi Muriidi Dheere (Ajakis), a famous comedian who died in September 2021. To avoid more instability his family moved his body to a safe location.

Participants in the grave removal said the government provided no rationale for the order to vacate the graves, which included several notable figures, including Abdirahman Omar Yarisow, the former mayor of Mogadishu, as well as six other officials.
