NAIROBI (KAAB TV) – Two Kenyan police officers were killed and another injured after Al-Shabaab terror group attacked a village in Lamu on Saturday, local security officials said.
The attack took place in Ziwa La Taa Village in Witu, Lamu County where the heavily militants conducted a raid on 9pm Saturday night causing panic and terror among residents.
Two policemen were instantly killed and their weapons confiscated by the militants, a source said while the third officer who was injured fled with leg injury.
The village under attack is close to Boni Forest where the militant group found safe haven.
Al-Shabaab on the other side claimed that they also attacked Pandaguo village in Lamu but did not provide further details.
Residents in Lamu County have been calling Kenyan security to increase the police patrol to prevent terror attacks in the area.
