GAROWE (KAAB TV) – In the sprawling internally displaced persons (IDP) camps of Garowe, women are stepping beyond traditional roles, shouldering not only the burden of family responsibilities but also hitting the streets to earn a living for their children.
Among them is Sangabo Ali Mohamed, a mother of five who juggles motherhood with street vending.
Sangabo, living in one of Garowe’s bustling IDP camps, spends her days selling traditional toothbrushes cut from trees. Despite the harsh conditions, her small earnings help sustain her family.
Each night, she returns to the camp, feeding and caring for her children after a long day of vending on the streets.
Kaab TV met with Sangabo while she was hard at work in the streets of Garowe.
