MOGADISHU (KAAB TV) – A parliamentary in Somalia’s Lower House session descended into chaos today after an MP from Southwest State was invited to speak, only to be interrupted by fellow legislators.
MP Mohamed Sheikh Abdullahi Ciiro, who had planned to raise concerns about his recent blocked travel to Baidoa by the National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA), was met with resistance before he could even take the floor.
As the MP approached the microphone, other members of parliament abruptly seized the stage, triggering a scene of disorder in the house. The chaotic interruption led to finger-pointing and loud disagreements among MPs, bringing the session to a standstill.
The Chair of Parliament struggled to regain control, while tensions remained high between lawmakers, highlighting deepening divisions over the Mogadishu vs Southwest rift.
